Site Transition and Other Stuff
Now that the transition to the new site has been (more or less) completed, I wanted to catch up on some brief announcements.
Cheat Sheet Template
The Visio template I use for creating cheat sheets has been posted in the library. I'm going to start accepting submissions to the "official" collection; only original, accurate, and professional submissions will be accepted. I've added a forum for cheat sheet development.
Of course, you are free to publish sheets created from the template on your own, so long as any references to Packet Life (e.g. the site's address at top right) are removed first.
Wiki and Blog
I've started migrating all my old CCNP and CCIE notes over to the wiki. This will take a while, but I'm making fairly steady progress. In the meantime, everyone is welcome to contribute their own content! Some ideas include:
- Certification study plans
- Hardware summaries and comparisons
- Vendor overviews (no spam)
Members are welcome to contribute their own blog posts now too.
Community Lab
I've begun planning for a free remote lab for site members. The goal is to produce a modern, multi-vendor collection of gear at the CCIE level, free for community use. This will take a good amount of work, but I think we can make it happen.
I'll discuss my plans (including potential hardware donations) in more detail in a future post, but for now I wanted to get the word out that I'm looking for discounted or donated rack space in Northern Virginia, preferably around Dulles Airport (IAD) or Fairfax County. Bandwidth consumption will be low, but I would like to secure at least half a rack of space (floor space is fine too). If you or your company might be interested in sponsoring rack space, please shoot me an email at stretch at packetlife dot net.
Comments
Nice,
Keep the good work coming, we appreciate it ;)

Marius
@deepakarora: Again, "I've started migrating all my old CCNP and CCIE notes over to the wiki."
The old site is still available at http://old.packetlife.net, for now.
I can't see the logo anymore in Firefox. I can see it in IE6.
Also, I tried to register an account using a hotmail address yesterday but I never received a confirmation email. You might want to check your mail logs.
Wow I'm very interested to see how the community lab plays out. I think that's a very generous thing for you to do.
I love the new site, did you do all the python programming yourself?
Aargh ... oh for the good old days when websites were websites and blogs/wikis/etc were that :-)
Nice changes Mr Stretch - I've been tardy in visiting and have only just seen what you have done. All the more reason to point my students here.
cheers Aubrey
dude, that is awesome. i hope you put in some vyatta routers.

Hi,
I can't see your routing TCP/IP Vol-1 and Vol-2 notes. Can you please post those again
